At 18:28 on March 18, 2024 (13:28 East African time), the Huaxin Cement Tanzania Mavini MLL 7.5MW waste heat recovery project (Phase II), contracted by STEC, was successfully synchronized to the grid for power generation.
On the basis of the successful implementation of waste heat recovery project (PhaseⅠ), STEC has gained full trust from Huaxin Cement Group, which was rewarded by another 7.5MW WHR project (Phase II) and 15MW biomass power plant project. The three power generation projects form an overall isolated network within the plant, completely solving the impact of unstable power grid fluctuations on the local African market and greatly improving the supply stability and competitiveness of Huaxin Cement in the African market. All personnel of the STEC worked together and overcame difficulties, strictly implementing the safety management and construction quality requirements of the group and the company. The implementation progress was completed half a month earlier than the production date of the clinker production line, and the one-time linkage test was successful, which was highly recognized and praised by the customer.
The operation of this project will save 49 million kilowatt hours of electricity annually for the customer, save about 15,000 tons of standard coal annually, and reduce about 38,000 tons of CO2 emissions annually. It has contributed to the establishment of the "Triumph" brand by Triumph Group in the international market and further established STEC’s leading position in the field of energy conservation and environmental protection engineering in Africa.
